Synopsis

Miljenko, uspješan i utjecajan hrvatski poduzetnik, na dan svoga pedesetog rođendana suočava se s brutalnom istinom – na sjednici nadzornog odbora doznaje da se njegovo poslovno carstvo nalazi na rubu sloma. Dok pokušava sačuvati pribranost, u njegov ured ulazi obitelj s tortom, osmijesima i pjesmom – nesvjesni da se svijet oko njega upravo urušava. U trenutku lažne vedrine zazvoni telefon. Na liniji je njegova kći Ana, studentica u Londonu. Čestita mu rođendan, radosno objavljuje zaruke – i zatim, gotovo slučajno, priznaje da je trudna. Otac djeteta je sin srpskog premijera. Šok se širi obitelji poput valova: baka se razboli, Miljenko tone dublje u očaj, a njegov hladnokrvni poslovni savjetnik Budimir u toj tragediji prepoznaje rijetku priliku – da spasi kompaniju, makar i po cijenu svega ostalog.

Miljenko, a successful and influential Croatian entrepreneur, is confronted with a brutal truth on his fiftieth birthday – during a supervisory board meeting, he learns that his business empire is on the verge of collapse. As he struggles to maintain his composure, his family enters his office with a cake, smiles, and a birthday song – unaware that his world is falling apart. In a moment of forced cheerfulness, the phone rings. On the line is his daughter Ana, a student in London. She wishes him a happy birthday, joyfully announces her engagement – and then, almost casually, reveals that she is pregnant. The father of the child is the son of the Serbian Prime Minister. Shock ripples through the family: the grandmother falls ill, Miljenko sinks deeper into despair, and his cold-blooded business advisor Budimir sees in this tragedy a rare opportunity – to save the company, at any cost.
