 Meebo je dječak opsjednut ribama – stalno ih promatra, crta i sanja o njima. Iako ga otac smatra “drugačijim”, majka vjeruje u njegov poseban dar i kupuje mu enciklopediju o ribama. U srednjoj školi Meebo uspješno uzgaja potkovičaste rakove što postaje prvi slučaj u Japanu, i odlučuje postati stručnjak za ribe. Njegovo znanje mu otežava da se uklopi u obične poslove, pa nakon brojnih pokušaja u sushi baru, akvarijumu i trgovinama, njegov talent napokon biva prepoznat. Kada oslika zidove sushi restorana svog prijatelja, Meebo shvata da su snovi ostvarivi – njegova ljubav prema ribama inspiriše cijeli Japan i pokazuje koliko je važno ostati vjeran sebi i svojoj strasti. 

Meebo is a boy obsessed with fish – he constantly observes, draws and dreams about them. Although his father considers him “different”, his mother believes in his special gift and buys him anencyclopedia about fish. In high school, Meebo successfully grows horseshoe crabs, which becomes the first case in Japan, and decides to become a fish expert. His knowledge makes it difficult for him to fit into ordinary jobs, so after numerous attempts at sushi bars, aquariums and stores, his talent is finally recognized. When he paints the walls of his friend’s sushi restaurant, Meebo realizesthat dreams do come true – his love for fish inspires all of Japan and shows how important it is to stay true to yourself and your passion.

Tim iz Katoria u prefekturi Chiba pokreće projekat s ciljem da lik znamenite ličnosti iz njihovog grada uvrsti u NHK-ovu historijsku dramu, kako bi oživjeli lokalnu zajednicu. Izabrani junak je Ino Tadataka, poznat po tome što je izradio prvu kartu Japana. Međutim, tokom pripreme scenarija, tim otkriva šokantnu činjenicu – Ino je preminuo prije nego što je karta dovršena. Vraćajući se u 1818. godinu, saznajemo da su njegovi učenici skrili učiteljevu smrt i u tajnosti nastavili rad kako bi dovršili kartu u njegovu čast. Film otkriva istinitu priču iza nastanka prve karte Japana, ispreplićući povijest, odanost i ljudsku upornost. 

A team from Katori in Chiba Prefecture is launching a project to include the character of a famous person from their town in an NHK historical drama, in order to revitalize the local community. Thechosen hero is Ino Tadataka, famous for creating the first map of Japan. However, during the preparation of the script, the team discovers a shocking fact – Ino passed away before the map wascompleted. Going back to the year 1818, we learn that his students hid the teacher’s death and secretly continued to work to complete the map in his honor. The film reveals the true story behind thecreation of the first map of Japan, intertwining history, loyalty and human perseverance.

U malom gradu Itayanagi na sjeveru Japana, tinejdžerka Ito (Ren Komai) živi s ocem i bakom, koja je neprestano podstiče da svira tradicionalni instrument šamisen iako je Ito izgubila volju za muzikom. Žudeći za promjenom i novim iskustvima, ona impulzivno prihvata posao u obližnjem „maid“ kafiću, gdje polako izlazi iz svoje ljušture i otkriva novu stranu sebe. Međutim, njena nova sloboda samo produbljuje tenzije između nje i oca. Film na dirljiv i duhovit način spaja tradicionalnu japansku kulturu i savremene društvene trendove, prikazujući univerzalnu priču o samootkrivanju i sukobu generacija, uz izvanrednu glumačku izvedbu Ren Komai. 

In the small town of Itayanagi in northern Japan, teenage girl Ito (Ren Komai) lives with her father and grandmother, who constantly encourage her to play the traditional shamisen instrument, eventhough Ito has lost her passion for music. Craving change and new experiences, she impulsively takes a job at a nearby maid cafe, where she slowly comes out of her shell and discovers a new side of herself. However, her newfound freedom only deepens the tensions between her and her father. Itomichi combines traditional Japanese culture and contemporary social trends in a touching andhumorous way, presenting a universal story of self-discovery and generational conflict, with an outstanding performance by Ren Komai.

Program se održava u organizaciji Ambasade Japana u Bosni i Hercegovini, u saradnji sa Japan Foundation i kinom Meeting Point. Filmovi se prikazuju s titlovima na našem i engleskom jeziku. 

Admission is free, and free tickets can be collected one hour before the screening. 

The program is organized by the Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Japan Foundation and Meeting Point Cinema. The films are screened with subtitles in thelocal languages and in English.
